Join us on Thursday, March 20th from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM in the Community Room of the Antigonish Town & County Library for an insightful Lunch & Learn featuring Autism Nova Scotia and MentorAbility. This event will explore the importance of workplace inclusion, mentorship, and how businesses can create opportunities for individuals of all abilities.
Guest Speakers:
- Natalie Stevens, Autism Nova Scotia (Strait Chapter Coordinator) will discuss the programs and services offered by Autism Nova Scotia, including province-wide virtual resources, workplace education on autism, and upcoming initiatives like the Walk YOUR Way for Autism and Touch a Truck fundraiser. She will also highlight Autism Acceptance Month and how businesses can get involved.
- Aaron Fanning, a MentorAbility Facilitator, and Adam Burke, Case Manager and Job Developer with Nova Scotia Works Career Connections,
will introduce the MentorAbility program and explain the impact of mentorships on both job seekers and employers, emphasizing the benefits of inclusive hiring practices.
This event is an excellent opportunity for business owners, managers, and community members to learn how they can support neurodiversity in the workplace, access valuable resources, and build more inclusive hiring practices.
