The purpose of our scholarships is to recognize student entrepreneurial activity and to encourage further studies directed toward an entrepreneurial career.

Scholarship Program
Entrepreneurship is an attitude, a behaviour and a set of values. When combined with the qualities of creativity, innovation, risk-taking and a strong need to achieve, the result is an individual whose style lights paths of opportunity for others to follow.
Criteria
To qualify, an applicant must be a student graduating from high school.
Applicants must intend to pursue studies at a provincially accredited post‐secondary institution the fall following high school graduation.
Applicants will be judged on the following:
- Past entrepreneurial activity both in school and out of school
- A future vision of entrepreneurial opportunities
- A demonstration of communication skills, both written and oral
- Initiative and strong positive personal characteristics
- Personal interview (only for applicants selected)
- In general, academic standing is not as important as entrepreneurial effort, initiative and vision!
Application Requirements
To apply, students must:
- Be a resident of Nova Scotia.
- Complete the attached application form.
- Provide two letters of personal reference. One must be from a school official such as a teacher, principal or guidance counselor.
- Submit an official high school transcript.
- Submit an essay describing entrepreneurial experiences and/or an entrepreneurial vision. The essay should comment on how the applicant’s interests and ambitions can be realized by an entrepreneurial career.
OR
- Submit a business plan including as much detail as possible.
- Consider the following: an executive summary, introduction and purpose,
company, goals, industry, product or service, market, marketing, operations, management, timetable, financial information and forecast and a summary. - Note: Students who have completed a business plan for their Entrepreneurship course could submit this plan.
OR
- Submit an entrepreneurial vision via an alternative communication format with prior approval of the committee.
