IAN SPENCER AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN BUSINESS
In recognition of Ian Spencer’s commitment to bridging the gap between business and the community, the Antigonish Chamber of Commerce annually recognizes a local business with this award for business excellence.
Nominee businesses have demonstrated successful business practices, strong corporate responsibility, and community service.
NOMINEES MUST:
- Be a member of the Antigonish Chamber of Commerce
- Have been in business a minimum of 10 years as of September 6th of the award year.
- Not have received this award previously, unless under past ownership.
EMERGING BUSINESS AWARD
This award is designed to recognize a new business showing excellence in some or all of the following categories:
- New or innovative product or service
- Quality of merchandise
- Customer service
- Job creation
- Growth potential
- Market served
- Community involvement
- Be a member of the Antigonish Chamber of Commerce
- Be within their third to ninth year of business as of September 6th of the award year.
- Not have previously received this award
OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE AWARD
This award is designed to recognize individuals within a business that have demonstrated outstanding “above and beyond” service to their customers.
Nominees demonstrating service excellence should be:
- Courteous
- Helpful
- Knowledgeable
- Responsive
THE NOMINEE’S EMPLOYER MUST:
- Be a member of the Antigonish Chamber of Commerce
- The nominee must not have received this award in the past five years.
YOUNG ENTREPRENEUR AWARD
The Young Entrepreneur Award recognizes young adults who have excelled in developing and enhancing the local economic infrastructure and contributed to the prosperity and well-being of Antigonish through entrepreneurship. In addition, this award acknowledges that young entrepreneurs strengthen local networks, help build a spirit of entrepreneurship, and contribute to the development of transferable skills for themselves and others in the community.
NOMINEES MUST:
- Be between the ages of 16 and 29 on September 6th of the award year.
- Have operated a business on a part-time or full-time basis for a minimum of two years.
- Must be an owner, partner, or majority shareholder and own at least 51% of the business.
- Not have received this award in the past five years
EXPORT RECOGNITION AWARD
This award recognizes the success that a business has demonstrated in taking up the challenge of expanding its markets outside of Nova Scotia and/or entering new markets for exporting its goods or services beyond Nova Scotian borders.
Nominees must:
- Be a member of the Antigonish Chamber of Commerce.
- Export products outside of Nova Scotia
